Up until two years ago, I didn't pay attention to influencer marketing either
Hey there,
Hope you're doing well!
In my professional circle within the golf industry, there are two distinct types of individuals: those who actively engage with social media and those who do not.
I have never been inclined to spend time perusing social media for golf-related content, nor have I been interested in the advice of influencers regarding the latest detox juice to improve my swing.
In fact, I do not have an Instagram or TikTok account, and my Twitter activity is minimal.
Within this same circle, there are two kind of individuals: those who are capitalizing on the recent surge in golf’s popularity, and those who are not.
Those riding the wave that golf has caught in recent years, and those stuck in the past, waiting for someone to stroll into the course office to buy a green fee or pop into the store for discounted FootJoy shoes.
Or at most, in a display of proactivity, negotiating a budget for a tiny community newspaper ad.
And you know what?
The former group, those who are on social media and understand the skyrocketing power of new influencers, compared to the mass media of the last century, have something else in common:
They are selling more, earning more, and receiving better job offers.
As a member of the baby boomer generation, I had no interest in the world of social media influencers until two years ago.
At that time, I was a sports editor for a traditional metropolitan newspaper.
Now, I am fortunate to earn a living writing about my passion: the golf industry. Moreover, I have more time to engage in the sport I love.
So, let me give you some unsolicited advice:
You can't keep living with your back turned to an entire ecosystem that is shaping consumer behavior in today’s market.
If this isn’t your case, and you master the business of influencer marketing around golf, then there’s no need for you to keep reading this email.
If you feel called out and believe you need to step up your game in that area, then I recommend you become a GBR Pro subscriber and download this guide here:

This guide will be available until this upcoming Sunday at 11 PM (PST).
